🍀Did Florida invent St Patrick's Day in America?

RISE Realty is a South Florida brokerage firm for commercial workspaces.

Did you know that Florida held America's 1st St Pats?

in Saint Augustine way back in the year 1600 while my hometown Boston began annual St. Patrick's Day parades in 1777 exercising their Freedom of Religion the year following the Evacuation of British Troops, retreating to Canada.

i had been accustomed to massive annual parades & parties so upon choosing Miami Commercial Real Estate as my 3rd career back in 2016 I ventured over to Mana Wynwood which promoted its St Pats party that only featured a few Guinness banners, no bag pipes nor step dancers, but instead EDM & Reggaeton music with revelers buying Cuba Libre cocktails from disinterested bartenders.  LOL- quite the underwhelming celebration for this McKraut Boston College alum who migrated to this multi-cultural new-to-me world of South Florida. It hit me the next day...as diverse as we know Miami to be, we certainly lack significant representation from several cultures who thrive in other American cities.  Look around: where are all the Gingers at?  Indians, Koreans, Aussies mostly absent here too, am i right? As if Miami's on the opposite side of the world or something- haha.  St. Patrick's Day in Ireland was traditionally a religious feast while America commercialized it and made a beer-soaked party when everyone might buy Green SupahFans Streetwear:

After my disappointment from that 1st Miami Saint Patrick's Day "celebration", i realized that my ancestors' religious holiday could have more meaning beyond Irish immigrants' Freedom of Expression.  Rather as as we see illustrated so successfully here in Miami and just like America has built and mostly made up by good people from foreign lands, our festive holiday could be shared with other immigrant populations.  Whether our ancestors were well-to-do and chose to be here, your family may have starved out of their country like mine was in the 1870s, others escaped wars or became political refugees from Latin America or even New York/California in the past few years of Covid-lockdowns.  Each of us has a story to share and culture to celebrate.  So if you've read this far:1- Thank you- I hope you're edutained and inspired to celebrate St Patrick's Day and your own heritage2- Shall i throw a multi-cultural party for us next March 17, 2024 to which you prepare a potluck dish from your home country and explore Irish folk music?3- What's this cultural holiday story have to do with Florida Commercial Real Estate?  Well, I told you that story to tell you this one about a favorite new RISE Realty client... ...my friend & former boss of mine Jay Quander who's famous family has one of America's richest histories that he best expresses through his new restaurant group Arrived Hospitality that's expanding here from the DC market.  Mr. Quander's team seeks to Buy & Build its 3rd location near Los Olas Blvd or surrounding upscale submarkets that might support its 1799 Prime Steak & Seafood Restaurant. Why name his restaurant "1799"? You see Jay's family had no choice in their migration from Ghana to America as they were enslaved to President George Washington whose will emancipated The Quanders upon Martha & the president's death in December 1799. This week, i treated my Irish mother and German father to their birthday dinner at Jay's Old Town Alexandria, Virginia restaurant. Arrived Hospitality bought and built their location last year inside this rustic colonial building 5-miles down the street from The Washingons' Mount Vernon Estate where i worked for him as a server, manager, social media specialist and company softball coach.  Jay can't hit, but he was a star high school quarterback then intimidating power lifter so i let it slide + ...he was my boss.Arrived Hospitality Group is already buying and building their 2nd DC location and retained RISE as their exclusive Florida brokerage firm to seek their 3rd corporate unit with the following Purchase Requirements for which i ask all my friendly Commercial Realtors help me uncover the gem of a location location location for 1799 to call its first Florida home for decades to come:preferred Submarkets: Fort Lauderdale's Los Olas Blvd, intercostal, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Lauderdale by the Sea, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, etc6,000 sf Building and/or 10,000+ sf Land for Purchase Only$500K to $5M Budget depend upon Location Location Location & improvements of PropertyWhat's 1799's market-placement?  [$150/avg ticket] - think "Gapital Crille" or "Norton's", but with that Quander Cool factor. If you'd like to watch Jay Quander's 1-minute of Fame from last month's DC News coverage with a bit more on the 1799 Restaurant Concept, just watch & subscribe to my youtube channel here @HeadCoachKev.  Again, thank you, for reading my blog if you did.  Tell me if you visit DC and want to dine at 1799. Keep your eyes & ears peeled for us here in Broward.   Erin Go Bragh [Ireland Forever} and let's Make America United Again
